Obsession: An Unexpected Masterpiece

Obsession was amazing, like truly amazing. One of the best horror films I have ever seen, probably my second favorite after Get Out. The acting was amazing, Inde Navarette and the guy that plays Bear were incredible. Truly amazing performances. The camera work was incredible and really got across the movie well. I think the best part of the movie was definitely the writing. The plot felt believable. I think the premise of the movie was genius and executed very well. You feel how much Bear likes Nikki. And they don't have chemistry which was great. It feels like they dont work well together and that makes it awesome. Their romantic moments feel awkward and their scary moments feel deserved almost. Inde definitely stole the show and was incredible in her role. Overall a fantastic film, something that I really enjoyed and got across the perfect feeling that makes me love horror films. The only things I didn't like was the killing of his friend, it actually felt kind of forced in for shock value, and I don't love the demon possession. I almost wish that the demon possession would have been left up in the air and not as magical. I think the scene where a million dollars falls out of the sky does not land well for me because up till then it felt like the magic was just a maybe. Maybe she did just become obsessed with him for some reason, but then it becomes a demon movie and it took a little away from me. But not enough for more then one point off. Overall a great movie.
